You will be lead through off the beaten track streets with your expert guide and be enlightened with ancient legends, ghost stories, unsolved enigmas, fascinating mysteries, and local hearsay about the history of the floating city. Venice is indeed known for being the most romantic of the romantic cities, but after dark, the romance factor suddenly dissolves to leave room to mystery and melancholy: Venice is a city with a long history behind it and, inevitably, that history contains a few skeletons and secrets.

Wander through the infamous Ca Dario, known as “the house that kills” as it appears that nearly all those who have owned, lived or been associated with the building have come to a sticky end (murders, suicides, accidents or bankruptcy). Admire the sinister Poveglia Island, turned into an asylum to hide the mentally ill away from the city in 1922. You’ll then get to know the Casino degli Spiriti or ‘House of Souls’, an elegant building cursed by the ghost of, a painter who killed himself over his love for an engaged lady.

The city’s darker side might leave you feeling a bit shaken, if you feel more comfortable in hiding away from the many ghosts you’ll meet during this tour, you are welcome to wear your own Venetian carnival mask!
