Private Industrial Innovation and Archeology Tour - Transfer Included

From EUR €58.00
  • Duration: 3 Hours (approx.)
  • Location: Rome, Lazio

Accompanied by an expert tour guide you will discover Rome's most significant artwork and architecture from the Industrial Revolution.

Start your experience at the Centrale Montemartini, the new museum that houses part of the art collection of the Capitoline Museums. The transformation of this former thermoelectric power plant into a museum began in 1997 with the transfer of hundreds of statues from the basement of the Capitoline Museums. Today, the Centrale Montemartini is a stunning contemporary space, where ancient artworks merge with a futuristic installation.

Follow your guide to the second stop on your journey, the Testaccio neighborhood. Historically, this was the neighborhood where Rome's first industrial factories were built, thus becoming the industrial center of the city starting from the second half of the 19th century.

During a pleasant walk, you will have the chance to admire amazing historical buildings such as the Gazometro and the Macro Future, the museum of contemporary art, as well as another example of transformation and reuse of neoclassical premises.
